To conjugate an –ir verb:

Drop the –ir ending from the infinitive: vivir > viv-.

Add the endings for –ir verbs.

Notice that the endings for -er verbs are almost the same as the endings for -ir verbs. Only the nosotros and vosotros forms are different.
