TPNS FINANCIALS
$HOW ME THE MONEY ...
Our Nursery School parents support the school financially to provide a quality preschool program. This is done in a variety of ways. The following is a breakdown of those methods.
ADA - 60%
Our biggest source of income is through what is called "ADA". this stands for Average Daily Attendance. All the schools in the LTUSD earn money through his program, but what make us different than other schools in the district is that we receive it for our parents' time, not our children; time. Each hour you spend in a Monday Night Meeting or work at school earns the school $4.25 from eh State in ADA. While this may not seem like a large amount, it adds up. Six hours a week (two for the Monday Night Meetings and four for your workday), four weeks a month, and approximately nine months (35 weeks) equals 210 hours or $892.50 a year to the school, just for your time.TUITION - 30%
Tuition is our next largest source of money. At $50.00 a month, with nine months in the school calendar, this totals $450 a year per child enrolled. We budget for 37 families as the membership numbers fluctuate during the year.SCRIP - 5% (Raleys, Safeway, Albertsons)
All three are fundraising programs that are available to our school. In past year, if you purchased just #400 a month in groceries using scrip, you basically gave the school $15.00 each month at no cost to you.ALL OTHER INCOME- 5%
Our other sources of funds are $1,500 from the State Lottery Funds, $1,300 in miscellaneous Fundraising ventures (pizza nights, rummage sales, water bottles, etc.), and $80.00 from interest on our banking and insurance accounts. This amount in the budget is hard to earn, and it is less work to raise money through scrip sales than to ask people to contribute additional time and money when so much is already contributed by our membership. These figures are based on a best case scenario, and are subject to a variety of influences (snow days, holidays, etc.). We try to stay within our budget in our spending and are always pursuing new avenues to raise money and cut spending. We have always been fortunate that our membership has been exceptionally giving of their time and resources.
