Fronts

cold front : steep frontal boundary, cold air pushes under, moves fast, vertical motion, thunderstorms, narrow band of intense precipitation, cumulus and cumulo-nimbus clouds

warm front:  gently sloping frontal boundary, warm air pushes cold air away, slow, wide cloud zone with light precipitation, stratus clouds

Thunderstorms, cumulus stage, mature stage, dissipating stage, tornado, Fujita scale

Sketch a cross section of a cold front, and one of a warm front showing:  direction of movement of air masses, temperature, shape of front, cloud type and distribution, and zone of precipitation.  Be able to describe these differences and show them on a weather map.
