¡Sean todos bienvenidos!

Welcome everyone!

Each August, the beautiful Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) campus located in the majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains, transforms itself into a Mexican pueblo offering students an immersion into the Spanish language and culture.

During the weeklong Institute, students can earn up to 4.5 quarter units of credit in courses designed to promote the development of fluency in Spanish.  The core program consists of 2.5 quarter units for beginning through superior levels, which emphasize speaking and writing skills.  In addition, students may obtain additional units all day Sunday, Monday and Thursday evenings, and during lunchtime and each afternoon the week of the Institute.  If you have a need or a desire to use Spanish in your academic, professional, or personal life, then spend the week with us and gain a command of Spanish.

Eligible students include high school age students and up.  If you would like to be placed on our email notification list or have questions after reading our web pages, please send us an email at issi@ltcc.edu.

Registration begins in May 2009 via WebReg.  Please go to our registration information page for more information.  (Mail-in registration will also be available, but will take longer to go through the mail and be processed, so we encourage you to register via WebReg if possible. High school students will need to register by mailing in or hand-delivering their forms.  Please go to Registration Information to download printable forms.)  Read the course descriptions and content on this web site to discover exciting new courses offered and to decide the appropriate level and courses in which to register.

Materials used for Institute courses are available in alternate format upon request.  If you need special accommodations for a certifiable disability that may affect class performance, please notify us as soon as possible so that we may meet those accommodations.  Thank you!
