Textbook: Precalculus, Michael Sullivan and Michael Sullivan, IV.
Please make sure that you have satisfied the prerequisites/corequisites for this course.
Calculators: A graphing calculator is required for this class. I will be demonstrating with the Texas Instruments-89.
Course Grade: Your final letter grade will be based on the grading scale: A 90-100%, B 80-89%, C 70-79%, D 60-69%, F 0-59% The following items will make up the course grade:
Homework: 100 points Quizzes: 50 points Exams 300 points Final Exam (June 22): 150 points
Homework: Homeworks will be assigned every Wednesday and collected the next Wednesday. A few problems will be chosen and graded. NO LATE HOMEWORKS.
Quizzes: Missed quizzes can be made up on the next class period for half credit.
Exams: A missed test can be made up on the next class period provided (i) I am notified about this ahead of time and (ii) you have evidence of a valid excuse for missing the test. No make-up for a missed final exam.
Check for the last day to drop the class.
Special Assistance: If you need any kind of special assistance (e.g., for learning disabilities), please see me well ahead of time to make alternate arrangements for the tests. I will grant you reasonable accommodations.
