Homework is due every Thursday, unless it is a holiday. The assignment must be completed and turned in at the beginning of class. Please be neat and show your work for each homework problem. Each section that is incomplete receives partial credit. Homework that is turned in late is penalized 2 points for each day late. Homework turned in after one week of the due date receives no credit. Homework is 10% of the class grade.
Two Quizzes are given in each course. They are given at the beginning of class before the lecture. Please be on time. All students are to take the quiz on the same day. If you miss a quiz, there is a penalty of one letter grade. No quiz can be made up after 3 school days. Each quiz counts for 25% of the class grade for the course.
The Final Exam is given on the last day of class. All students must take the exam for Math 187A by Oct. 26. If a student does not receive a passing grade in Math 187A, that student will not be allowed to continue on to Math 187B. The final exam counts for 40% of the class grade for the course. Grades are based on the following scale.
