Course Description:

This is a formal course in geometry covering the basics of lines, planes, angles, triangles and congruence, the Pythagorean Theorem, similarity, and special right angles. May be taken concurrently with MAT 152B.

Recommended Prerequisite: C or better in MAT 152A and MAT 152B or satisfactory score on math assessment.

Grading Policy: Method of student evaluation.

Your letter grade will be based on your percentage of the possible points. The total possible is 750 points.

A 90 - 100% 675 - 750 points

B 80 - 89% 600 -674 points

C 70 - 79% 525-599 points

D 60 - 69% 450 - 524 points

F less than 60% 449 or less points

Make-up Policy:

For tests, students can make-up only one exam with a written medical emergency or a 10 percent penalty. Students must contact the instructor in advance of the examination in order to arrange a make up.

Lab:

Computer lab activites will be a component of the class. Lab work will be completed and handed in within one week (two classroom periods).

Attendance:

Students are expected to attend all classroom sessions. Your attendance and participation is part of the overall grade. Two absences will be excused.

Homework:

Homework will be handed in with each examination. No late homework will be accepted beyond one classroom session.

Registration:

1. You must register for this class at the Office of Admissions and Records.

2. The last day to drop the class with no record is Friday, Jan. 16.

3. The last day to drop the class for a "W" grade is Friday, March 6.

4. After March 6, if you are enrolled, you will receive one of the following grades: A B C D F or I (Incomplete, is only allowed in special cases).

In this class, it is your responsibility to drop the class in order to avoid a grade. You must go to the registrar by the above dates to avoid a grade from option three or four.
