Managing the Mean Math Blues

Welcome our first Math Success
class here at LTCC.
We are all in this together to help you in being successful in the math
class that you are currently attending. In
particular, this course is designed to assist you in learning mathematics
through the development of successful study skills and exam taking methods.
We will address learning styles, how to read a math book, completing
homework assignments, how to take notes and exams, time management, and
techniques for overcoming math anxiety. RECOMMENDED COREQUISITE:

Thursday......................................... 6:00 – 7:00 (A204) GRADING POLICY: This course is offered for a grade of Credit or No Credit.
There are 10 class meetings and you must attend at least 7 of them to
pass the class. Attendance and
class participation are mandatory to this class.
OVER HOMEWORK: Homework
will consist of readings from your textbook and handouts from other sources.
It will also involve trying out techniques that we discuss in this class
in your math class. JANE’S

will check the earlier part of my day at the door when I enter the classroom,
and I will give this class 100% of my attention while we are meeting. ·

will come to class well prepared. ·

will listen and seek to understand what is being said. ·

will put 100% of my effort into assisting you in passing your current math class
and any that may follow. LEARNING DISABILITIES:

1.
You must register for this class at the Office of Admissions and Records.
2.
The last day to drop the class with no record is Friday, January 30.
3.
The last day to drop the class for a "W" grade is Friday, March
5.
4.
After March 5, if you are enrolled, you will receive one of the following
grades: A B
C D F
or I
(Incomplete, is only allowed in special
cases). In
this class, it is your responsibility to drop the class in order to avoid a
grade. You must go to the registrar
by the above dates to avoid a grade from option three or four.
