This course covers exponential and logarithmic functions, conic sections
including circles, parabolas, ellipses and hyperbolas.
We will study linear systems, matrices, sequences and series.
Special emphasis will be placed on application problems and the use of
graphing calculators. Prerequisite:
A grade "C" or better in Math 103-A, or a satisfactory score on
the Math assessment test. Grading:
Your class letter grade will be based on the percentage of total points: A:
90% and above, B:
80-89%,
C: 70-79%, D:
60-69%, F:
59% and under.
Homework:

Homework is considered late if it is not turned in at the due date.
You may turn in homework up to one week after it is due for half
credit. Quizzes:
If you cannot take a quiz the day it is scheduled, you may take it up to
two school days before the scheduled date.
Arrangements must be made with me in advance. Otherwise, there are no make-up quizzes. Exams: You
must notify me before an exam if you will miss the exam (541-4660 EXT 368).
Exams must be made up within 3 school days after the scheduled
date, with a penalty of 10% per day. You
may take an exam up to 2 school days before the scheduled date without
penalty. Arrangements must be made
with me in advance. It is important that
students who are identified as being learning disabled speak to me about their
special needs within the first week of class. In this class, it is
your responsibility to drop the class in order to avoid an unwanted grade.
You must go to the registrar before March 2, 2001 to withdraw from the
