COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is a continuation of Math 152A. Topics which are covered include factoring, solving equations with rational and radical expressions, systems of linear equations and solving quadratic equations. (Don't worry if these topics don't make sense now; I promise you'll understand soon!)

PREREQUISITE

A grade of C or better in Math 152A or a satisfactory score on the Math Assessment Test.

GRADING POLICY

You'll have the opportunity to accumulate points during the quarter in the following areas:

Three Exams @ 100 points each: 300 points

Three Quizzes @ 30 points each: 90 points

Cumulative Final: 150 points

TOTAL POINTS.......540 points

You will be assigned a letter grade based on your percentage of the total points possible:

A 90-100%

B 80-89%

C 70-79%

D 60-69%

F below 60%

Make-up policy: There will be no make-ups on quizzes, although one quiz will be dropped, taking your highest three scores. Make-up work is possible on exams and the final, but beware...there is a 10% penalty unless you have a really good excuse. There is a one-week limit on any make-up work.

Homework: I will assign highly recommended homework problems to enable you to master the content of this course. Although I will not be collecting or grading this homework, quiz problems will be taken directly from these assignments.
