Course Description:  This course picks up where Math 152A left off, starting with formulas, absolute value, factoring, solving equations with rational polynomials and radicals, systems of linear equations, and solving quadratic equations.

Grading Policy:                   Quarter grades are based on the following:
   Homework       20%                       A        90  – 100%
   Midterm           30%                        B       80  –   89%
   Quizzes            20%                       C       70  –   79%
   Final                 30%                       D      60  –   69%

Quizzes:  There will be four quizzes.  The lowest quiz will be dropped.

Make-ups:   If you must miss a test or quiz, let me know ahead of time and we’ll make arrangements.

Otherwise you can take a make-up-quiz one class day late for a 20% penalty.

Homework:  This will be due the following class session. You must show your work to get credit. The process is more important than the answer.  Each assignment is worth 10 points: 5 for completion and 5 for selected  problems.  Late homework is worth half credit and will not be accepted after one week.

Note:  If you know you’re going to miss class, you can turn in your homework early.  Do this on campus in the main lobby, there is a Student Drop Box outside the mailroom.

Tutoring:   The Gateway Math Center (GMC) hosts free tutoring on a drop-in basis, Mon-Fri 9-6.

Learning Disabilities:   If you have a learning disability, be sure to discuss it with me.
                                       Learning disabilities will be accommodated.
