                1                10.3-10.4; (Quadratic functions and their graphs and more on quadratic equations), and the Notation and Review of R handouts.

 

                2                10.5-11.2; (Quadratic and Rational inequalities, graphing functions, and transformations of graphs).

 

                3                11.3-11.4, 12.1; (Combinations of functions,  Inverse functions, and exponential functions).

 

                4                Review 10.3-11.4, Test #1 12.2; (Logarithmic functions).

 

                5              Revisit test #1, 12.3-12.4; (Properties of logarithmic functions, and applications).

 

                6              8.3 and 13.1; (Systems in three variables and nonlinear systems of equations.) Review 12.1-12.4, Test #2.

 

                7                Revisit test #2, 13.2-13.4; (The parabola, circle, ellipse, and hyperbola).

 

                8                13.5, 14.1-14.2; (second degree inequalities, sequences and series in general).

 

                9                Rreview 8.3 and 13.1-13.5, Test #3, 14.3 (Arithmetic sequences and series).

 

                10                Revisit test #3, 14.4; (Geometric sequences and series).

                11                14.5 (Binomial expansions.), review all.

 

Exact dates of assignments and contents of the tests will be given via announcements/handouts in class. The above is, therefore, only a guideline.  The indicated dates for each exam will be adhered to barring only severe, unexpected, circumstances.  Those exact dates are as follows:

                Test 1: Wednesday, October 16, 2002

                Test 2: Friday, November 1, 2002

                Test 3: Wednesday, November 20, 2002

               

Anticipate a comprehensive final exam.  This quarter's final is scheduled to occur in this room (A211) from 10:00 to 12:00 (note the early start!) on Monday, December 9, 2002.
