Textbook: College Algebra and Trigonometry with Graphing Technology, David E. Stevens.

Course Description: This course is an in-depth study of functions. We will study linear, quadratic, and other rational functions. We will analyze their algebraic and geometric properties. Special emphasis will be placed on application problems and the use of graphing calculators.

Prerequisite: A grade “C” or better in Math 154, or “C” or better in Math 153 or Math 102 within the last 2 years.

Grading: Your class letter grade will be based on the usual grading scale:

A: 90% and above, B: 80-89%, C: 70-79%, D: 60-69%, F: 59% and under. 

Homework: 200 points
Exam 1: 150 points
Exam 2: 150 points
Exam 3: 150 points
Final Exam: 200 points


Homework: Homework is considered late if it is not turned in at the due date. You may turn in homework up to one week after it is due for half credit. 

Exams: If you cannot take an exam the day it is scheduled (final not included), you may take it up to 2 school days prior to the scheduled date. Otherwise, the exam may be made up after the scheduled date with a penalty of 10% per day. 

It is important that students who are identified as being learning disabled speak to me about their special needs within the first week of class.
