The wind pattern in Lake Tahoe  in the summer  is generally light morning breezes switching to south west winds in the afternoon. The more north / northwest in this push the better the kiting. Occasional northeast winds blow in the morning only and are also great for kiting. South shore tends to have stronger winds than north shore.
