Sue Kloss will teach field based ecology and botany including local and global environmental ecosystem structure and function and physical and biotic elements of the environment.
Spanish language acquisition classes will be taken at the Amauta School inCuzco at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels as well as Hispanic civilization and culture emphasizing the social, historical, cultural, economical, and political issues of the Peruvian people and their lifestyles.

Peruvian Life & Culture, 2 units (required course for all participants)
Cuzco is waiting for you! This field based course will introduce students to the rich culture and customs of Peru. Topics include the history, geography, ecology, and mythology of Peru; pre-Columbian civilizations of the Chavin, Mochica, and Inca; the Sacred Valley; Machu Picchu; and the Festival of the Sun - Inti Raymi. Students will participate in field trips and cultural activities in Peru as part of this course.
