Spanish 212

All students will be assigned a specific poet to investigate.  An oral poet presentation as well as a written poet paper must be completed.  This project is 40% of the quarter grade.

This assignment (combined oral and written) is worth 40% of the quarter grade.  Do your best work!

Poet Paper

A written paper on your poet of 2-3 pages is required about your assigned poet.  The paper should include a summary of the poet's life and major works.  It must be typed, double-spaced, in Spanish.  

Due date is on the class syllabus.

Grading for the poet paper will be based on:

• 50% correct use of Spanish grammar (verbs, adjectives, accent marks, etc.)
• 50% content
• Grading rubric for poet paper
• Outline for poet paper (bosquejo)

Poet Presentation

The oral poet presentations may be done in a group or on an individual basis. 

Students must use visuals during the presentation.  Since the visual portion of the grade is 30%, students should put much effort into preparing visuals that enhance the presentation.  See the instructor if help is needed.

Presentations should include information about the poet's life, education, travels, type of literature, style, major influences, and main works. The presentation should last 15 minutes.

Presentation dates will be assigned in class.

Grading for the oral poet presentation will be based on:

50% Content
30% Visuals
20% Use of Spanish
