Television Commercials

Presentation Date: See course syllabus for specific date.

Group size: 2-3 students 

Time:  10-12 minutes 

Requirements:  visuals and props, written script for each group, good Spanish pronunciation, use of commands.

Description:  Each group will present a television commercial to the class in Spanish.  The mood can be serious or comical; keep it clean, PG rating!  All participants must speak in Spanish and a large portion of the grade will be based on the use of spoken Spanish.  Emphasis should be on using commands in Spanish.  Each student should have at least one statement using the subjunctive.

Vocabulario:  Use topics from Capítulos 9, 10, 11, & 12: Pastimes, Hobbies, Sports, Medical Care, Health Issues, Quality of Life, Appliances, Electronics

Suggested Topics:

Vacation Area

Health Spa

Doctor or Dentist

Sporting Event, Olympics, etc.

New Medical Product

Disaster, Medical Problem

Sporting Goods Store

Current Events

Cleaning Product

 

 

Grading will be based on

Spoken Spanish, 30%
Use of commands (familiar or formal) and subjunctive, 30%
Visuals, 30% 
(To receive full credit for visuals, much effort must be put into this portion of the grade.  Use props, costumes, videos, music, etc.)
Written script 10%  (Correct grammar, commands, subjunctive)

 ü      Written scripts must be turned in from each group before the presentation.

ü      Cue cards may be used.  However, if the script is read the best grade possible will be a "C."

ü       See the instructor if you have any questions or concerns as early in the quarter as possible.

 Be creative, speak Spanish and have fun!
