INTERVIEW PROJECT

Objectives: 

  • Converse with a native Spanish speaker.
  • Become familiar with the culture and customs of people from Spanish speaking countries.
  • Write a composition in Spanish.

Successful students will:

  • Compose a list of interview questions, at least 20 questions.
  • Meet with a native Spanish speaker.
  • Ask the questions and interact with the interviewee.
  • Write a summary of the interview, in Spanish.
    (Two pages, typed, double-spaced, in Spanish)
  • Include a conclusion with your comments on the project
  • Edit the summary with a Spanish tutor if needed
  • Read the interview summary to classmates

Grading

20%

20 interview questions

  • List of questions asked must be turned in with the written summary
  • Include questions about the culture and customs of the interviewee

70%

Written summary in Spanish must contain:

  • present and past tenses (preterite and imperfect)
  • Correct grammar
  • Description of  the interviewee
  • Your impressions of the interview.  How did it go in your opinion?
  • Well written with depth and variety of expressions and concept
  • Conclusion stating what you gained from the interview?  Positive comments?  Areas of difficulty?

If you need help finding someone to interview, see the instructor as soon as possible in the quarter.
