Mission Statement

The International Education Council, in collaboration with the Chancellor’s Office, has established a scholarship program to provide California Community College instructors and administrators an opportunity to study world languages and culture abroad. The purpose is to promote cultural exchange and study abroad opportunities; to enhance language teachers’ cultural and linguistic competencies; and to strengthen effectiveness of instruction in the classroom.

Scholarships for Community College Instructors of California. Administrators who are involved in International Education and Study Abroad are encouraged to apply. The German study does not apply to administrators.

	Study in Mexico
	Study in Paris, France
	We currently have no study abroad opportunities for ESL instructors.

Application

The application is a three-page form. You may use the printable application form from this web site.

Be sure to check that your application is complete before mailing. Please include all components of the application in one envelope. It should include the following information:

	Completed application, typed
	Professional résumé (include all teaching experience in one section)
	Two letters of recommendation, at least one letter must be from an administrator or department chairperson
	There is no application fee.

Application Deadline

	Applications are due to the Foundation for California Community Colleges, postmarked by April 30, 2007.
	Selection and notification to recipients of scholarship will be made by December 2007.
	Travel/study abroad must occur before December 31, 2007, some restrictions may apply.
	Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.
