Department of Rehabilitation
The DOR, South Lake Tahoe Branch offers services to the Deaf and hard of hearing in and around the Lake Tahoe Basin, including North Shore and Truckee area.

The DOR assists Californians who are Deaf, hard of hearing, or late deafened to obtain and retain employment and maximize their ability to live independently in their communities. Services provided include: Deaf culture and awareness, communication techniques, assistive listening devices, Interpreter services, referrals and assistance, vocational and other training, audiologic and hearing aid assessments, ADA requirements for communication accessibility, resources for Deaf, hard of hearing, and late deafened individuals.

NorCal Center on Deafness
NorCal Center on Deafness is a non-profit community-based agency, "of, by, and for" the Deaf and hard of hearing people, serving residents in twenty-four counties of Northeastern California. NorCal provides the following services: Advocacy, counseling, rehabilitation, independent living skills, interpreting services, HIV/AIDS project, employment, community challenge to reduce teen and unwed pregnancies, drug/alcohol education, prevention, and treatment, language and communication skills training program, bookstore and resources.

Nevada

Deaf and Hard of Hearing Advocacy Resource Center
The DHHARC is located in Carson City, Nevada. The center provides services to Nevadans in Northern Nevada as well as rural populations. It serves as an Advocacy and Information Center for Deaf, hard of hearing, and latened deafened adults to ensure equitable access to all services and training opportunities.

Northern Nevada Center for Independent Living
NNCIL is a community based, not for profit organization providing quality support services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing that include: independent living skills training, information and referral, peer counseling, and aggressive advocacy. NNCIL is responsible for TTY distribution in the State of Nevada.
